WHY FASTING ?

WHY FASTING ?

"Fasting is a rest: physiological vacation. This is not a test or a penitence. It is a cleansing action that deserves to be better known and more widely appreciated" Dr. Shelton

Since our conception until today, we have never stopped eating. The food we eat today, even "when we pay attention to what we eat", often contains too much sugar and saturated fats.In addition, the food we eat today do not have the same nutritional values as it used to be fifty years ago. More and more people have food intolerances, small aches (eczema, intestinal permeability, constipation, headache, stomach inflammation, diabetes), which become almost permanent.

The modern frantic pace of life most of us have, causes chronic stress (90% of people suffer from it) and we literally have no time left for ourselves. The days passes quickly by, it is like the time especially in big cities has kept accelerating more and more in the past few years.

Fasting is the perfect occasion to take some time off for ourselves, to do a food and mental break. This digestive rest will save 40% of our energy, which is no longer used to digest food, but to renew the body's cells and repair tissus. When we fast, it is like we set the meter back to zero, which allows us to move towards a more balanced life, in harmony with our physical and emotional needs and desires.

Why fasting?

To prevent disease or cure it
By putting our body at rest, fasting can perform a detoxification of the body, which will use the available energy to regenerate cells and eliminate all toxins from the system.Therapeutic fasting has been one of the pillars of conventional medicine in Russia and Germany for decades, with amazing results on physical and mental pathologies even significant ones.Fasting does not cure everything, but it is remarkably effective on many common health problems such as digestion and transit disorders, blood circulation, various inflammations (arthritis, rheumatism, eczema, psoriasis), fatigue , stress ...

Dr. Walter Longo’s as well as German and Dutch universities experiments on mice have demonstrated the benefits of fasting during cancer chemotherapy phase. The experiment reported in the documentary of the French-German TV channel, Arte - "Fasting: a new therapy?" - shows two groups of mice to which the researchers inject high doses of chemotherapy. The first group eat without restriction, the second fast for 48 hours. Two third of the mice fed normally die whereas those who survive show neurological and muscular disorders. The mice who fasted 48 hours are all alive and show no symptoms. This experience has not been extended to humans in real conditions and we must remain cautious about the benefits of fasting on cancer, but many cancer specialists started to recommend it. In all cases, the cooperation and support of an oncologist or a specialist is needed to do a therapeutic fast in the best conditions. For more information on indications and cons-indications, see the FAQs page or contact us to check your ability to fast with us.

To gain vitality and regain energy
During this food break, we will save 40% of our energy normally assigned to the digestion to renew the cells of our body, but also detox the organs, tissues and mind. During fasting, people often feel euphoric which is due to a higher secretion of serotonin. They feel a greater emotional stability and well-being as well as an increased vitality *.

These changes are also visible on the outside, and it is not uncommon that people who fasted, report that they are often asked their secret to this good-looking face.

Take responsibility for your health
We live in a medical and institutionalised world where we often expect the doctor, the state, the school or businesses to take care of us and tell us what we must do. A fasting retreat allows your  and your mind to rest and express what they really need. But fasting also changes our relationship to food and our insecurities. When we manage not to eat for 3,5,7 days or more, we break down many physical barriers but also psychological ones, we feel an immense pride but also great freedom. There is a before and an after the fasting retreat: the way we feed ourselves and we think, will inevitably change. We do not know exactly what will change during fasting, what is certain is that something will happen and that we will feel ready to take care of our health and well-being for a long time.

Losing weight
During a fast of a week, men lose about 500g / day and women 200 g but it varies from one person to the other. In general, it is not uncommon to see our slightly overweight participants lose 5-8 kg in after a week of hydric fast. But the most important is to have the keys to adopt a healthy and positive nutrition that will maintain that weight loss over time. If fasting is only a kind of quick regime that the person does before going back to an unbalanced and distorted diet, then it is likely that the person will gain weight again and will not benefit from the effects of fasting on the long run.  Fasting is the beginning of a process of healthy habits, it is a way to achieve and maintain our ideal weight.

Spend time with your yourself, change your life
A fasting retreat gives you a break in your lives to disconnect from the world and reconnect with yourself. This is a time when you can think only to yourself, away from the everyday and family environment, to take the time to listen to our body, mind and spirit. After the third or fourth day of fast, the mind is more lucid and clearer. Many people tell us they find solutions to issues they had never thought of, they feel like creating new projects, they have a new vision of life and what they want to do. It is also an important time to take stock of your life and eventually to change its direction.

Our conferences "Disconnect to reconnect" "Break emotional ties and ho'oponopono", " Raise your energy up" and "healing with your hands" will also give you powerful tools to take action and be in harmony with yourself.
